Slot-machine revenues at the casinos declined for the second month in a row in February.
Foxwoods Resort Casino reported Thursday that its slots "win" — the amount of wagers it kept after paying out prizes - was down just under 1 percent compared to February 2011. Mohegan Sun reported a year-over-year decline of 3.9 percent.
Foxwoods' win for the month, during which it marked its 20th anniversary with a series of promotions, was $51.1 million. Mohegan Sun's win was $55.8 million.

A month ago, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun reported January declines of 4.7 and 2.9 percent, respectively. Both casinos had reported sizable gains for December, the first month both had experienced year-over-year gains since July 2010.
Foxwoods' "handle" - the total amount of wagers pumped into its machines - topped $600 million last month, an increase of less than 1 percent over February 2011.
"The results reflect positively on the new marketing and branding initiatives we announced in the middle of February, including our popular 20th anniversary promotions," Scott Butera, Foxwoods' president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. "We are using a more targeted model to build and retain a profitable customer base.
"So as revenues stabilize, we are experiencing strong improvements on the bottom line."
Mohegan Sun's handle declined 6.9 percent last month.
Jeffrey Hartmann, Mohegan Sun's president and CEO, said that despite the decline in slots revenue, the Uncasville casino added to its string of profitable months overall. Though he could not disclose other figures, he said table-games volumes were strong during the month, as they were for lodging and entertainment.
"We were up against some tough competition," Hartmann said, referring to Foxwoods' heavy promotional activity. "Still, we executed our marketing plan. Overall, February was a good month."
Figures reported Thursday show Foxwoods' slots players redeemed $7.2 million worth of coupons and credits for free play while Mohegan Sun gave away $4.4 million in free play.
Foxwoods, which includes MGM Grand at Foxwoods, sent $13.8 million in slot revenue to the state. Mohegan Sun contributed $14.3
